Coverage Types

VESSEL POLLUTION INSURANCE COVERAGE

Falvey’s “Safe Harbor” vessel pollution insurance policy is one of the broadest base policy forms in the industry, including all the endorsements that are typically considered optional coverages by other underwriters in our base form.

Falvey is also the only vessel pollution underwriter with on-demand portal access for both brokers and assureds to manage their coverage.

Vessel Pollution Insurance Coverage provides our clients:

Comprehensive Global Vessel Pollution coverage for both the vessel owner and operator in the event of spills, or the threat of spills.

The Certificate of Financial Responsibility (COFR) Guaranty that satisfies regulatory requirements for vessel owners trading to the United States and ensures they can bear the costs for an oil spill cleanup.

Marina coverage to protect marina owners in the event of a vessel spill at their location.

Shipyard coverage to protect against spills that occur while vessels are being built or repaired—including shipyard-owned vessels. This comprehensive vessel pollution coverage also protects the yard for sea trials and delivery trips.

Non-Vessel Owner coverage to provide comprehensive third-party legal liability in the event of a vessel discharge.

Blue Cards are a legal obligation for ship owners to visit a port in countries part of the International Bunker Convention. Falvey is approved in over 30 countries and can provide a Blue Card.
